When Ed Bacon visited his grad school urban design class – and suggested coming to Philadelphia – Stan Cairns took his advice. The Midwest native appreciated the city’s urban planning heritage and has contributed to it over the last three decades.
Stan works closely with clients to develop clear project strategies, and leads project teams to provide creative, efficient, and responsive service. He fosters teamwork with a focus on key design, economic, and schedule issues that will make each project a success. Within the firm, Stan fosters a culture of creative leadership and teamwork. Initiating CLA’s role as an early adopter of BIM, Stan continues to challenge and direct staff to develop new strategies to improve client service. He encourages exploration and efficiency in how the firm thinks about and executes architecture.
Stan establishes design direction and approach for projects, with an emphasis on commercial, hospitality, and multi-family residential sectors. He encourages exploration and seeks to maximize efficiency in how the firm thinks about and executes architecture. With efficiency in mind, Stan directs much of CLA’s BIM strategy and pushes sophisticated visualization in the design process.
Stan has guest lectured at Philadelphia University and Villanova University, served as a panelist at the G2E Global Gaming Expo, and presented at Design on the Delaware. An avid recreational and competitive sailor, Stan spends his free time at home in Radnor, Pa., or sailing on the Delaware River.
Stan holds M.Arch and B.Arch degrees from the University of Wisconsin. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Delaware Valley Green Building Council, Urban Land Institute, and U.S. Green Building Council. He is registered in N.J. and Pa. Stan joined CLA in 1983.
